Haley Jasper | Senior Physiotherapist
Haley is passionate about helping others improve their performance, prevent injuries and reduce pain through evidence-based physiotherapy. In her spare time, she enjoys cycling, weightlifting, rowing and any outdoor adventure!
Haley worked as an exercise physiologist and fitness specialist in the USA before moving to the UK to qualify as a physiotherapist. She held a lead position working with fire departments throughout United States on fitness screenings for cardiac disease. Her previous roles in the health and wellness field have allowed her to work with a wide variety of people from those with medical conditions to higher level sport athletes looking to progress.
As a physiotherapist, she has gained invaluable experience working with the Royal Navy in Dartmouth. She worked alongside a team of medical personnel to help treat and rehabilitate officers and cadets with musculoskeletal injuries. Additionally, she has worked with sport teams including Mackie Academy Rugby Team and Edinburgh Napier University Rugby Team.
Chronic Pain and Complex Conditions
Haley has gained considerable experience in the NHS as a rotational physiotherapist working with a wide variety of patients from those with neuromuscular conditions to amputees. More recently she has gained specialist experience in the management of chronic or persistent pain. She aims to enable those with chronic pain to learn management strategies to increase their quality of life.
Haley’s experience working with complex chronic conditions, combined with her extremely thorough and logical approach has allowed her to help patients overcome the most serious of injuries. She uses her proficient physiotherapy skills to create the individualised treatment plans for clients, combining manual therapy, education and specific exercises to allow a comprehensive recovery from injury.
Haley completed her first degree at Auburn University in the United States, and produced a research study into the effects of aerobic exercise on patients with lung cancer. Following six years of work experience, she then attended Robert Gordon University to complete her MSc. Physiotherapy degree. Her dissertation looked at the effects of Kinesio tape application to the hamstrings on knee proprioception.
